Gentle Yoga for Beginners, Boomers & Seniors
Fridays at 10:00am

A class specifically for beginners, boomers and active seniors, this slow, mindful 1 hr class includes gentle warmups, creative chair yoga, supported standing poses, gentle stretches and a sweet deep relaxation. I offer plenty of modifications with props so you can practice safely while getting all the wonderful benefits of yoga.

Gentle Yoga

Perfect for newbies, stiff bodies, and those wanting a slow, mindful, mellow practice, this 1 hr class includes gentle warmups, flowing and classic yoga poses, and a blissful guided relaxation at the end. We’ll practice with compassionate awareness, humor, ease and grace. Leave feeling grounded, nurtured and ready for the rest of your weekend!

In-Person Intro To Yoga Series
Have you been wanting to try yoga but unsure of where to start? Then you’re in the right place! I’m offering a 6 week beginner series at Move Fitness in Bluffton, SC to encourage you to get started in a fun, compassionate and non-judgmental class, tailored to absolute newbies! You’ll learn basic yoga poses, principles of posture, breath & alignment, safe transitions between poses and how to modify the practice so that it works for your body. Along the way, we’ll cultivate flexibility, balance, strength, body awareness, energy and relaxation practices. Learn to ease tension in the body, while calming the mind and soothing the soul. Each class will end with a guided deep relaxation practice to leave you feeling grounded, inspired and nurtured. This is the perfect opportunity to try yoga in a class designed specifically for beginners. This would also be great for those returning to yoga after a hiatus or those simply wanting a gentle, mindful practice.

Restorative Yoga & Sound Bath

Give yourself a true gift this Spring! Join Gloria Owens for two delicious hours of gentle mindful movement & nourishing Restorative Yoga, while Beth Donovan of Sol Balance serenades you with the healing sounds of crystal bowls, chimes, drums and other sacred instruments. Gloria will guide you through a slow & sweet yoga practice including various supported Restorative Yoga poses to unravel tension, ease a busy mind, and leave you feeling refreshed. Your practice will be enhanced by Beth’s healing soundscapes that will undoubtably take you on an epic vibrational journey!

Preparation for Restorative Yoga:
Wear cozy, comfortable layers and socks.
Plan to turn off your cell phone and get unplugged.
Plan to eat after our session or eat lightly a few hours beforehand.
Bring your own props.
Props for Restorative Yoga:
The studio has a few mats, blocks and straps to borrow, but we encourage you to bring your own, including the items below:
Yoga Mat (or even two, for extra comfort)
2 Yoga Blocks
Yoga Tie or long scarf (at least 7-8 ft long)
1-2 firm blankets or 2 large beach towels, which can be rolled or folded and can serve as support in various poses
2 firm pillows/cushions (not soft, squishy bed pillows). Think throw pillows from your couch, meditation cushions, or maybe even long pillows or oblong rolls
Eye pillow or pillow case to cover your eyes
Yoga Bolster if you have one
